Keen rugby league fans have until 8pm tomorrow (Saturday) to snap up a treasure trove of exclusive rugby league items from the leading teams in the British Super League.
The auction comprises a number of signed shirts and balls, and will raise money for a fund set up in the memory of a student from Bingley, West Yorkshire who died the day before her 22nd birthday from a form of leukaemia.
According to the Keighley News, Katie was a massive rugby league fan.
Katie's mum Liz told the newspaper: "Katie was an avid Leeds Rhinos fan, so we decided to try and raise funds for Katie’s Forget Me Not Fund for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
“They say rugby league is a family game and we have had quite a positive response and have met some very supportive people.”
Items in the sale include signed 2012 shirts from Super League champions Warrington Wolves, Leeds Rhinos, Bradford Bulls, Huddersfield Giants and Hull FC.
At the time of writing, bids on the items had topped £440, but will almost certainly go much higher, especially as the auctions close just after the conclusion of the rugby league season's showpiece grand final game, between Warrington Wolves and Leeds Rhinos at Old Trafford, Manchester.
