Parcel delivery firm City Link has been celebrating its 40th year in business.

A leading parcel delivery firm has been busy celebrating its 40th anniversary in the industry, it has been reported.

City Link was first formed in 1969 and now has over 85 depots nationwide ensuring over 350,000 parcels are delivered daily, reports the Welwyn and Hatfield Times.

The firm has also recently pledged to invest £31 million in a fresh programme of customer care and integrated technology, with new depots in the UK also planned.

Stuart Godman, City Link's sales and marketing director, told the newspaper forty years in the parcel industry is "quite a milestone".

He added: "It's been a journey, and going forward we want to be celebrating another 40 years of continuous development with our many customers.

"There's very little good news out there at the moment, so any positivity is welcome and 40 years in business seemed a good time to celebrate

City Link recently installed a new range of security cameras and domes from Bosch Security Systems at its depots across the country.
