The first dedicated eBay module as part of a recognised business studies course has been launched in the UK.
A training company based in Durham has teamed up with a business which offers online training courses designed to let people get the most the trading possibilities of eBay.
Bayacademy has teamed up with Durham Training, to add an eBay-focused module to the training provider's usual business administration course.
"We are keen to support [the e-commerce] sector with apprentices who have the right skills to help them prosper. Lots of young people are very online savvy, keen to learn and begin a career in e-commerce,” said Susan Harris of Durham Training.
Apprentices will be given eBay sales training alongside their general business administration lessons. Companies interested in recruiting an apprentice who has completed the course may be eligible for a £1,500 government grant, Bdaily Business Network reported.
Susan Harris added: “The challenge to a business selling on eBay is having the time and skills to take advantage of this opportunity so employing an apprentice with specialist training and support could be the answer.”
