Worldwide shipping firm UPS is to expand its global reach to cover Indonesia after a deal with a local parcel delivery firm.
UPS has announced an expanded partnership with local courier service JNE to extend pick-up and delivery services for international express packages throughout the country.
JNE has over 1,000 centres nationwide and the deal will give businesses outside of the urban centres of Jakarta and Bali direct access to the UPS global network.
UPS and JNE have been working together since 2000, but the new deal will see a major expansion of the network.
Craig Foster, vice president of UPS Asia Pacific Region South District, said: "This new relationship with JNE will further strengthen UPS's capabilities in Indonesia."
The news comes after UPS announced a strong second quarter performance, with operating profits up 57 per cent on the same period in 2009.
