Worldwide shipping firm goes green at DHL

Parcel Delivery Video Transcript

Worldwide shipping firm DHL is pushing its green credentials one step further with the expansion of its GoGreen project.

It is part of DHL's Strategy 2015 that was rolled out last year and targets a five per cent CO2 reduction within the next five years by recycling paper.

But the Americas DHL Global Forwarding division has taken this even further by encouraging employees to minimise waste of everything from business cards to office furniture.

It is the only business division of the worldwide shipping firm that has a dedicated GoGreen employee.

Head of GoGreen for DHL Global Forwarding Americas Sonia Nunez said the firm takes its responsibility of protecting the environment very seriously.

"On a day-to-day basis we rely on air, ocean, truck and rail as the means by which we ship our clients' freight; we understand it is instrumental that we do our part to protect natural resources in and out of the office."

The news of the parcel to USA firm's green action comes after its Asia Pacific arm unveiled a new supply chain centre in Singapore aimed at better sustainability.ADNFCR-2658-ID-19898595-ADNFCR
