Rapid closures are "destroying the Welsh Post Office network", according to one leading MP.
Roger Williams is MP for Brecon and Radnorshire and Liberal Democrat Secretary of State for Wales. He made the comment after figures requested in parliamentary questions revealed the country now has less than 1,000 branches remaining.
The statistics show that the rate of closures in the country is far faster than that seen across the rest of the UK.
Indeed, branches were cut by 13 per cent in Wales in the last year alone.
As a result, Mr Williams said that the country is being "hit hard" by the government closure programme.
