Microblogging service Twitter has declared that it will be running a new collection of frameworks which it is claimed will allow broader scope of usage.
The new set up will mean consumers can update their tweets, and follow those of other users from the location of third party websites.
Signing up to this facility are online retailers Amazon and eBay, as well as YouTube, Yahoo! and Salesforce.com.
Twitter co-founder, Biz Stone says that this development, known as '@anywhere', is just the beginning.
He said: "With @anywhere web site owners and operators will be able to offer visitors more value with less heavy lifting."
Mr Stone said that their open technology platform has been further simplified, and now site owners need only drop in a few lines of javascript, to run the service.
