Customers wanting to sending a parcel across the UK will have more options for an efficient courier from this week.
This comes following the resolving of Royal Mail's long term disagreement with the Communication Workers Union (CWU).
Pay and working practises have been resolved through a vote of two to one from workers, in acceptance of the arrangement from the organisation and the CWU.
The treaty between the two parties stipulates that staff are to receive a 6.9 per cent pay increase across a span of three years, while the body will invest in new machinery.
CWU's deputy general secretary, Dave Ward, said:
"The deal commits Royal Mail to retaining full-time staff, improved flexibility and a voluntary approach to any redundancies."
