Royal Mail deliver card 8 years late

Parcel Delivery Video Transcript

Royal Mail have delivered a card wishing a 12 year old boy in Colchester good luck on his first day at primary school in 8 years late.

Matthew Clarke who is now at secondary school received the card from his now deceased great grandmother, along with a card form Royal Mail apologising for the delay.

Matthew's mother Sharon Clarke, is one of dozens of Colchester residents who have recently been delivered letters, from the first half of the most recent decade.

She described the situation as bizarre, saying that 8 years is a pretty long delay.

Around a thousand items of post were found in two compost bags in the attic of a former postman, who is now being investigated.

Royal Mail declined to comment on the matter whilst the individual is under investigation.ADNFCR-2658-ID-19617407-ADNFCR
