Parcel delivery customers using Royal Mail have been told the service is planning to use AFD address management solutions software.

The company will help with the development and distribution of Postcode Address File, and its range of address management products.

Royal Mail's Address Management Unit selected the company in order to help develop new ways to provide raw address data to direct customers.

An enhanced CD and a new FTP service, which gives customers instant access to their data, will be rolled out this summer to allow people to see some 5,000 PAF updates every day.

Miranda Dodd, head of Royal Mail's address management unit, said:

"This is one of the most significant developments in the production and distribution of PAF for many years."
