Online retailers have good reason to be confident at the start of a new decade.
The final two weeks of December saw consumer spending soar, with shoppers putting more than four billion pounds on their credit cards.
That’s according to Barclaycard Payment Acceptance, which processes transactions for 88 thousand UK retailers.
That figure’s an increase of 2 point 4 percent on the same period in 2008.
The busiest day for online shopping was December 23rd, when nearly half a billion pounds was spent on last minute Christmas shopping.
