The Queens' speech made in parliament this week announced the UK government's intention to modernise Royal Mail.
The Queen's first speech made under new prime minister David Cameron covered 22 bills for the coming parliamentary session, which started last week.
The agenda for legislation will last for the next 18 months, and contained the Postal Services Bill.
It proposed the safeguarding of the Post Office as well as jobs for employees, and promised customers and companies a continued dependable service.
Her Majesty the Queen stated: "My government will modernise the Royal Mail, in partnership with employees, and will ensure it benefits from private sector capital and disciplines."
Coalition business secretary, Vince Cable said: "We are looking at all of the issues and options with a fresh pair of eyes."
