Homes in part of County Durham got their first postal delivery of the decade yesterday.

The Northern Echo reports that while other delivery vehicles had got through the snow, some people in Edmundbyers, Hunstanworth and Blanchland hadn't had any post since the 23rd December.

A councillor in the area's now demanding an investigation by Royal Mail bosses.

The newspaper claims the roads in the area had mainly stayed open during the snow.

Royal Mail meanwhile say the weather is continuing to disrupt services in some parts of the UK after fresh snowfall in many areas, especially the South West and Wales.
