That's according to a survey conducted by OnePoll, on behalf of myHermes.co.uk, which asked more than 6,000 adults to list their most unpopular queues, including supermarket and traffic light queues.

The Post Office was the clear winner, taking 25 per cent of the vote, with supermarkets and traffic lights both taking 16 per cent and the doctor's surgery 11 per cent.

A further 54 per cent of people said that the long queues put them off posting or picking up a parcel from the Post Office.
