Sending a parcel to USA in Los Angeles, could fall under a new tax to be introduced by the city's council.
The council voted this week to include proposals for a $39 parcel tax on an upcoming ballot, aimed at fund local libraries.
Commenting on the potential decision in an interview with the Los Angeles Daily News, councilman Tom LaBonge, said the addition to the ballot will be welcome to the city's librarians.
He said that their budgets have been progressively cut in recent months, stating: "We have been cutting their budget year after year, and they are asking us to put this before the voters.
The newspaper notes that including the new parcel tax in the November ballot would cost an additional $4.1 million.
