A branch of parcel to USA firm DHL has been honoured with a "prestigious" award, it has been announced.
Exel Transportation earned the Intermodal Carrier of the Year award from Georgia-Pacific, one of the world's leading manufacturers of packaging, tissue, paper, pulp and building products.
The award recognises Exel Transportation for its on-time delivery, shipping accuracy, safety and ease of doing business.
Vice president of transportation for Georgia-Pacific, Paul Snider, said: "Exel Transportation earned our Intermodal Carrier of the Year award, for its exceptional service during 2009."
He added: "This high-performing team provided 99.8 percent on-time service to the minute, and their efforts help us meet our efficiency and service goals each day."
Exel Transportation vice president and general manager Todd Thompson said the company has enjoyed working with Georgia-Pacific for more than 20 years.
