Worldwide shipping giant DHL is making sending a parcel to the USA much quicker.

The news comes as the delivery company have announced the opening of a new next-day service from Ireland.

Businesses as well as individuals are now able to receive parcels just 24 hours after being dispatched from Ireland, thanks to a new daily flight from Dublin.

The firm says it will strengthen business ties with America, covering 90 per cent of all company addresses across the country.

Canada will also be covered by the new service from DHL Express.

The firm says this underlines its position as the world's leading international express delivery company.

The next-day service has been welcomed by Irish exporters, for whom the US is the number one market by sales value.
