Sending a parcel to Spain could now be faster and more efficient, as courier DHL has invested in new camera technology.
Vitrionic has supplied the worldwide shipping firm with the cameras in its main distribution hubs in Madrid, Barcelona and Vitoria.
The camera technology speeds up the sorting and makes sure customers receive their parcel deliveries quickly - while cutting costs compared to conventional scanner technology.
Juan Iraola of DHL Express Iberia said: "Compared with the scanners we now have a very high rate of reading. In this way we save enormous costs and significantly improve internal processes."
The cameras are more efficient than the traditional scanner as they read the barcodes on the five sides of the parcel in any direction.
The news comes after DHL Express Iberia introduced a new electronic invoice system, as part of its GoGreen strategy.
