Parcel to Germany service provider DHL is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its Brussels hub.
The hub employs around 600 people and processes up to 70,000 parcels every day, distributed internationally via air and road.
Established in July 1985, the hub began with a humble 32 employees coping with a paltry 11,000 parcels per day compared to today's major operation.
The Brussels hub is one of DHL's most important regional locations in Europe and is connected to over 200 countries worldwide.
Managing director Benelux Hubs & Gateways, Koen Gouweloose, said: "Our Brussels hub is an important centre for the distribution of express shipments leaving and entering the Benelux region."
Services from the Brussels hub were among those disrupted earlier this year following the closure of European airspace.
With the ban lifted, DHL was able to resume close to 100 regular intra-European express flights which run on a daily basis.
