Parcel to Germany more secure

Parcel Delivery Video Transcript

Parcel to Germany firm GLS has launched a new secure coding system to make sending goods safer for customers and retailers.

The new IdentPin Service works by the sender telling the intended recipient a four-digit alphanumeric PIN code.

Only if the code is inputted correctly on delivery will the recipient be able to sign confirmation that they have received the goods.

It is hoped that the new system will do away with complicated verification processes while maintaining a high level of security.

Managing director of GLS Germany, Klaus Conrad said that the new service should be particularly interesting to telecommunications and pharmaceutical firms.

He said that the system has proven itself in a test scheme in Berlin.

"The service is easy and safe," Mr Conrad added.

In addition, a date of birth verification can be incorporated into the service to make it even more secure.ADNFCR-2658-ID-19922895-ADNFCR
