Technology that can help make sending a parcel to Germany more straightforward is not being fully utilised.
New research from O2 has found that one in five people in the UK have never used Wi-Fi and over a quarter are yet to use a smartphone.
Richard Stewart, a technology guru with, said that a lot of people are still not taking advantage of the opportunities that these technologies offer.
He said: "Wi-Fi smartphones like the iPhone or Blackberry, as well as social networking, are still alien to some people."
The news comes as online retailer eBay is in the middle of rolling out apps for iPhones that make sending and tracking a parcel to Germany, while on-the-go, a lot easier.
The O2 survey also found that over half of respondents admitted their knowledge of technology, is somewhere between average and non-existent.
