A new report by Juniper Research says that the mobile retail market is today worth $4.1 billion, and is set to rise to a colossal value of $12 billion in four years time.
This means that a reliable parcel delivery service will be more in demand than ever, with mobile shopping set to expand by 24 per cent
more, by the year 2015.
The market has mostly been fuelled by discount offers through coupons, encouraging customers to make purchases.
However, Juniper's figures are solely based on the value of vouchers redeemed, smart posters, information downloads and the cost of mobile advertising.
The amount spent on goods purchased through mobile access was not accounted for by the firm, meaning the net value of mobile retail could be much higher.
