The recent boom in parcel deliveries could be driven by the growth in online marketing.
It has been revealed that 30 per cent of advertising spending goes towards advertising over the internet, in the UK.
This figure means the UK's online marketing industry receives the biggest proportion of online advertising money, than any other place in Europe.
The research comes from a study by Interactive Advertising Europe, which also said that even though businesses had to navigate the recession, online advertising expanded across 23 markets.
Alain Heureux, president and chief executive of IAB Europe, said he 'praised' the resistance of the market to the economic conditions, and that the industry is "at a crossroads for the online advertising market."
