People wanting to send a parcel to the USA can soon do so with a clear conscience, through courier UPS.
United Parcel Service has recently announced the commissioning of 200 contemporary hybrid fuel delivery vehicles across eight cities in the United States.
Previously, UPS had used 50 hybrid electric trucks in some southern states, in cities such as Houston, Dallas, Phoenix and Atlanta.
20,000 of their other vehicles in the south and east have low emission engines.
The news comes just weeks after another eco initiative by UPS, who arranged for a green pick-up service to become available for small to medium enterprises.
This means that UPS workers will make stops at customer locations for a collection, only when a parcel is actually being delivered.
The action will conserve a predicted 790,000 gallons of fuel, along with 7,800 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions.
