Parcel delivery and logistics company DHL has teamed up with luxury department store House of Fraser to give a mentoring session for the finalists of the 2010 Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden.

Alice Palmer, Corrie Nielsen and Jade Kang were picked by fashion designer John Galliano for their creativity and innovation, while the mentoring from DHL and House of Fraser was designed to translate their talents into commercial success.

The instruction covered the way in which materials and accessories are imported and exported for production, how transport affects pricing models and how to set up and run an e-commerce operation.

"Today's shopper is demanding more than a great product, they want the entire experience and brands need to be able to deliver on their promises," commented Mark Holland, supply chain director for House of Fraser.

"We want to help these new designers turn their great products into great businesses."

In March, DHL completed the sale of its UK domestic parcel business to Home Delivery Network, aiming to focus on its core businesses of Time Definite International and Same Day express courier services.
