The postal strikes which have brought the country to a halt are harming businesses more and more each day, but those struggling are finding delivery companies like DHL are rescuing them.

Speaking to Marketing Direct, Nigel Swabey, the chief executive of mail order company Scotts of Stow, said that what parcel delivery services like DHL provide is reliability.

He said that direct marketers have acted swiftly to use the services of parcel delivery companies like DHL to ensure their campaigns and promotions are not hurt too badly by the current strikes.

The current stand-off between the Royal Mail and the Communication Workers Union has also seen lifestyle courier services being employed more as they can provide cheaper and more reliable parcel delivery than the Post Office, Mr Swabey said.
