Andrew Hagger, a spokesperson for Moneynet.co.uk has said that paying off debt from your credit and debit cards is a worthwhile practise.
He added this is particularly the case for those who want to benefit from reward schemes linked with their cards.
He said that "If you go for a rewards card and you don't clear your balance every month - you are paying interest", which will wipe out any benefits received.
