Courier USA service the UPS Foundation was recently recognised for the support it has given to the Red Cross with its disaster response work.

The American Red Cross welcomed the ongoing donations from UPS - best for its efficient delivery of a parcel to USA homes and businesses.

Ken Sternad, UPS Foundation president, underlined the ways in which the parcel delivery firm assists with disaster logistics.

He explained: "When disasters strike, The American Red Cross resources and logistics capabilities are essential to getting supplies to those in need."

He added that their "partnership is one element of UPS's global humanitarian relief program, combining financial grants, in-kind services and logistics expertise."

Last month, UPS was recognised by Latin American organisation United Way, for reaching a $1 billion donations milestone.
