Customers of online fashion giants ASOS will now be able to trade their personal clothing garments using a virtual marketplace, starting in several months time.
The site made public this week that developments of the marketplace are reaching its final junctures.
The platform will allow customers to make money from their own unwanted clothes, as well as buy those displayed on the site by other users.
The concept is regarded as a more environmentally friendly way of shopping for fashion.
The market platform would also benefit independent enterprises, as it will allow fledgling businesses a place through which to advertise stock.
Chief executive of ASOS, Nick Robertson, said the idea "makes perfect sense in today’s market.
He added that "sellers will shape its future."
