Yorkshire outreach services to resume

Outreach services in North Yorkshire are to resumeTwo villages in North Yorkshire are set to benefit from the relaunch of outreach services in their area.

Outreach postal services in Osmotherley and Swainby are to re-open, it has been announced.

According to the Darlington and Stockton Times, it has been around two months since the services were closed due to the resignation of a postmaster who had a long-running dispute with the Post Office.

The same services will be available as before the closure, which may have led some people in the North Yorkshire villages to seek post office alternatives for parcel delivery needs.

Ian Carlton, the Post Office's field change adviser, told the newspaper: "We apologise to customers for any inconvenience these temporary closures have undoubtedly caused, but I'm sure they will be delighted that it will soon be business as usual again at their local post office."

The Press and Journal recently reported that residents in the Scottish town of Cullen may have to seek parcel delivery alternatives as the local post office looks set to be closed.
