Woodville residents show anger at lack of post box

Royal Mail has apologised for delayThe Royal Mail have failed to deliver a post box to a certain village in Derbyshire.

The Royal Mail has felt compelled to apologise for the delay in replacing a post box in the south Derbyshire village of Woodville, which may lead people to use alternative parcel delivery services.

According to the body, an "administrative error" resulted in Hartshorne Road remaining without a post box and residents have complained that the Royal Mail's failure to act has caused them problems.

They have now requested a date for the installation of a new box, the Burton Mail reported.

Douglas Wheelhouse, who lives on Hartshorne Road, told the paper: "We've been promised a new post box and now they're not getting back to us. We just want to know when it will be replaced."

He added that elderly people on the street have now had to walk half a mile to the post office because of the inconvenience.

The Malvern Gazette recently reported that the Royal Mail had not replaced a post box in Malvern, five months after it was stolen.
