The campaign to see a post office in Waunfawr re-opened is set to be taken to Westminster.

Campaigners who are trying to re-open a post office in Wales are to take their battle to Westminster, according to reports.

The site in Waunfawr was closed around 12 months ago, which means local people have had to seek post office alternatives for their parcel delivery needs.

However, according to the Caernarfon and Denbigh Herald, residents in the area are taking the matter to London in an effort to see its services restored, after the Welsh Assembly government advised them to.

Talking to the newspaper, the owner of the village shop where the services were based, Howard Jones, said the closure "means that several local businesses will continue to travel daily up to three miles away to post parcels".

Welsh Liberal Democrat MP Mark Williams recently condemned the decision to close a post office in Talybont.
