Internet users have been warned over a virus that pretends to be a message from eBay.People using eBay to order their next parcel delivery should be on high alert for a new malware campaign that is masquerading as the online marketplace.Internet users have been warned about a new virus that is using a false payment request email message as a means to infect people's PCs, laptops and mobile devices with spam and malware.Researchers from internet security software firm Sophos said the attack begins with an email with the subject line: "Payment request from" and a fake eBay return address."Of course it's a sneaky piece of social engineering on the behalf of the hackers," says Sophos senior technology consultant Graham Cluley."Many people would be tempted to open the attachment to find out what on earth the email is about."The message body itself is blank, but have a dodgy file attachment, he adds.EBay is hosting a webinar today (July 15th) where users can ask questions about the online marketplace such as ways of setting up parcel deliveries.Article Added: 15/07/2010 14:56:36
