Villagers joy at post box return

A replacement is coming soonMore than 28 households in the area launched a campaign to save the box.

Locals in the village of Ridgeway in Stoke-on-Trent are celebrating after they won the battle to replace an 80-year-old post box, it has been reported.

More than 28 households in the area launched a campaign to save the box, which many in the community said was crucial for their delivery needs, thisisstaffordshire.co.uk reported.

Helen Bradshaw, who led the protest, said the decision to replace the box is a welcome one and that Royal Mail bosses will soon see how important it is to the local community.

A letter from Mark Griffiths, Royal Mail's regional networks support manager, said that after assessing the area, those in charge have come to the conclusion that it is both safe and feasible for a post box to be located there.

Residents in the Worcestershire town of Malvern have expressed their frustration at the theft of the local post box, which took place five months ago, the Malvern Gazette reported.
