Eppleby residents want a new outlet to open in the village hall.Residents in the Teesdale village of Eppleby are confident that Royal Mail bosses will back plans to set up a Post Office counter in the village hall.Following a public consultation last year, the local branch was closed down after the couple who ran it decided it was no longer commercially viable, the Teesdale Mercury reported.A meeting between Royal Mail chiefs and local residents saw an agreement reached in which it was settled that a new outlet would open provided suitable premises could be located.Ian Muir, a member of the Eppleby village hall committee, told the newspaper: "The village hall committee has offered the use of the premises and the ball is now in the court of the Post Office."Residents in the North Craven village of Wigglesworth will see parcel delivery services return to the area after it was announced that a new outreach postal service is to be introduced to a local pub, the Craven Herald and Pioneer reported.Posted by Mark MooreArticle Added: 30/03/2010 17:01:00
