Hipperholme woman reveals shock at Post Office ram raid.
A resident in the Yorkshire village of Hipperholme has spoken of her shock at an attack on the local Post Office, which has left many having to use alternative parcel delivery services.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, thieves drove a vehicle into the front of the outlet in a bid to take the cash machine, the Brighouse Echo reported.
The assailants failed to get the money but caused a substantial amount of damage, which led to the Post Office having to close its doors indefinitely, meaning locals may have to use alternative parcel delivery services for the time being.
Barbara Robinson, who lives in the village, told the newspaper that the attack has left everybody in shock.
"This is not what we want in the village. It looks a mess and people rely on the Post Office. Banks in the village have closed and it is important we have the Post Office open," she said.
Residents in the Derbyshire town of Bakewell may have to use Post Office alternatives for their parcel delivery needs, as the local branch could close in the near future, Bakewell Today reported.
