A post office in a Lancashire village has been closed without any explanation, it has been revealed.Residents of a Lancashire village have been hit by news that their local post office has been closed without any explanation. The Lancashire Evening Post reports that Broughton post office - which is based inside a general store - has been shut without notice, with only a sheet paper taped on the glass door highlighting the closure. News of the problems could lead many in the area to seek post office alternatives for their parcel delivery needs. An unnamed resident told the newspaper: "I suppose it will affect a lot of people because there's a lot of older aged people round here. There are not a lot of people with cars they'll have to wait for buses." Postal services across the UK are currently being affected by a series of 24-hour strikes organised by the Communication Workers Union.Written by Lucy PritchardArticle Added: 16/09/2009 15:19:27
