Custom-made and fully operational bikes that mirror those used in sci-fi flick Tron are being sold on eBay.

Sci-fi geeks have been given another reason to order parcel deliveries from eBay, after five working replicas of the Lightcycles from the movie Tron were listed for sale on the auction site.

Priced at $35,000 (£23,000) each, the Lightcycles were developed by Florida-based Parker Brothers Choppers, featuring custom-made wheels with rims made from fibre carbon laminated steel.

"Be the envy of everyone who sees this bike as it will make motorcycles as you now know them seem like antiques on the road," read the eBay listing.

"No future Lightcycles will be made to ensure the value of these custom motorcycles in the coming years."

Parker Brothers Choppers is something of a specialist in creating bike-related movie memorabilia, having previously built the famous Batpod replica which was also sold on eBay.

The news will be further excitement for Tron fans following the announcement of the forthcoming sequel to the Disney classic, which sees Jeff Bridges reprise his role as Kevin Flynn.
