Plans to close a Post Office outreach service in Suffolk have been criticised. The decision to close an outreach service in Suffolk managed by the Post Office has been met with disapproval from local people.Originally established in Wangford after local branches were close, the service is expected to close next week for a temporary period as the local subpostmaster has resigned, reports the Lowestoft Journal. It is believed the decision could lead many people in the area to consider the use of post office alternatives and other parcel delivery firms.Kathryn Savage, clerk at Wangford Parish Council, told the newspaper the decision was "a big problem".She added: "The nearest alternative post offices are in Southwold or Halesworth, and at Southwold you cannot really park anywhere near the post office."The Sentinel recently reported that postal workers in Stoke are considering strike action after it was proposed a local sorting office is to be closed.Article Added: 04/06/2009 14:37:12
