People in Strathmiglo will lose their Post Office for the foreseeable future.

Residents in the Strathmiglo area of Fife will need to use Post Office alternatives for their parcel delivery needs after it was announced that the local Post Office will close for the foreseeable future.

Fife Today reported that the resignation of the sub-postmaster has left Royal Mail with no choice but to close the branch from February 8th until the company is able to provide counter services again.

Helen Belford, field charge officer for the Post Office, told the newspaper that every effort is being made to restore parcel delivery services in the area.

"The provision of a Post Office service to our customers in the local community is of paramount importance and we continue to work hard to restore a Post Office presence in the area as soon as possible," she said.

In other news, the Harrow Observer recently reported that a delegation from Harrow Council is to meet Royal Mail representatives to discuss the closure of South Harrow Post Office.
