Staffordshire residents 'without Post Office for three days'

residents are unhappy at the plansThe branch will move at the beginning of next month.

The Post Office on Market Street in Hednesford, Staffordshire, is to move to a new location across town, it has been reported.

On February 4th, the branch will be relocated to the Co-op, with residents left without services for three days, according to the Express and Star.

The move, which may see local people use Post Office alternatives for their parcel delivery needs, comes despite a concerted campaign to stop the plans being implemented.

Councillor Allan Pearson, chairman of Hednesford Town Council, told the newspaper that the move and the loss of services is inconvenient.

"Any gap in normal service like this, or the one recently at Hazel Slade, causes real nuisance and concern to local residents and businesses, particularly the elderly," he added.

The reopening of a Post Office in Bath has been delayed, much to the displeasure of local politicians, thisisbath.co.uk reported.

Councillor Malcolm Lees told the news provider he is working hard to resolve the situation.
