A business analyst has suggested eBay adopt an Amazon-style fulfilment programme.EBay should act more like Amazon by offering a fulfilment service to its users, according to RBC Capital analyst Stephen Ju.In a research note published recently, the analyst said both buyers and sellers would benefit from the move, under which sellers would send their products to the online auction site for storage until they can be sent in a parcel delivery. The move could boost eBay's revenue and help it to "shed its Web 1.0 image and remain more relevant to its base of buyers and sellers", Mr Ju wrote.Additionally, buyers would benefit from a greater choice of selection, fewer bad transactions and cheaper parcel delivery charges. Meanwhile, sellers would get better shipping terms with carriers and would do more business overall. However, according to a blog post on Auctionbytes.com, the move might not prove popular with sellers who want to retain control over their physical inventories.Posted by Mark Moore.Article Added: 07/07/2010 13:28:05
