More and more shoppers are choosing to buy their groceries online in a bid to save cash.Savvy shoppers are turning to online retail in the hope of securing bargains on food, it has been claimed.According to Deloitte's 2010 Consumer Food Safety Survey, 23 per cent of respondents said they have visited a food company's website to find out more product information.A third of those questioned revealed that they have signed up to receive emails, recipes and coupons from online food retailers, a six per cent increase on the same figure for 2008.Pat Conroy, Deloitte's vice chairman and consumer products practice leader in the US, said that many realise the advantages of shopping via the internet."Today's consumers are using the internet to not just find nutritional and safety information about the foods they eat but to find the best value," he added.According to a recent article on Moneywise, it is increasingly common for people to use the internet to buy their weekly food shop.Posted by Lucy Pritchard.Article Added: 12/05/2010 13:48:57
