Thieves took jewellery and mobile phones from the van.A second Royal Maildelivery van has been targeted by thieves in Southampton, with jewellery and mobile phones taken from it.It follows a similar incident in the city last month, when criminals struck a van parked outside the Bon Marche shop while the postman was making deliveries nearby. The latest theft took place on December 2nd around Portland Terrace, with several high-value items being taken, which may prompt others to use Post Office alternatives for their parcel delivery needs."Again, special delivery items which contained jewellery and mobile phones were taken while the postal worker was away from their locked van," Hampshire police said.Businesses concerned about the security of Royal Mail's parcel delivery services have plenty of Post Office alternatives to choose from.Michael Ross, director at eCommera, told Phil Muncaster from Computing.co.uk that there are a number of parcel delivery providers who can offer high-quality service at low prices.Posted by Lucy PritchardArticle Added: 11/12/2009 16:20:31
