Consumers are becoming increasingly confident with using the internet to search for specific items, which bodes well for the future of online retail, an industry figure has said.
Hannah Kimuyu, director of paid search at Greenlight, stated that members of the public have become much savvier in how they look for products online and how search engines work.
She added that because consumers know what they are searching for, the time frame in which they find it has shrunk, which all works towards boosting the online retail sector.
"I think the consumer has not only become more savvy with the types of terms they use whilst searching the internet for retail, but they are certainly more in tune with how to use the internet," Ms Kimuyu said.
The latest IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index showed that Valentine's Day helped online retail bounce back in February following slow sales in January.
