The Brompton-by-Swandon branch has closed.Residents in the Scarborough village of Brompton-by-Swandon will need to use alternative parcel delivery providers for the foreseeable future, as the local branch has closed following an audit.The Post Office counter, which is part of a shop in Main Road, had to stop serving customers recently while the store stayed open, the Scarborough Evening News reported.A spokesman for the Post Office said that the firm is hard at work trying to rectify the problems and assured members of the public that parcel delivery services will resume in the near future."We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused and can assure them that we are doing all we can to restore service to the village as soon as possible," the representative told the newspaper.The Post Office in Church Street, Enfield, has reopened after Subhash Patel agreed to take over as sub-postmaster on a temporary basis, the Enfield Independent reported.Posted by Laura RathboneArticle Added: 01/03/2010 08:58:03
