MP Sir Alan Haselhurst calls for the Post Offices to reopen.
Residents in Saffron Walden will have to use Post Office alternatives for the foreseeable future after a second local branch closed its doors.
MP Sir Alan Haselhurst, who claims the move has caused a great deal of inconvenience, is campaigning for at least one of them to reopen, according to the Saffron Walden Reporter.
Ronwtree Way Post Office closed recently and, following the resignation of the sub-postmaster, the Audley End Post Office has had no choice but to follow suit for the time being, meaning residents may have to use the services of alternative parcel delivery providers, such as Parcel2Go.com.
Sir Alan told the newspaper that, at present, locals are in a difficult situation.
"Of course, I would have preferred both offices to stay open. The management of the Post Office just don't seem to understand the difficulty many people have in accessing the main office on the High Street," he added.
Residents in the Essex Village of Great Notley saw the doors of their local Post Office close on October 13th, according to the Braintree and Witham Times.
