Further investment is to be made in the modernisation of Royal Mail, it has been announced.Royal Mail has announced that a further £120 million is to be spent on its modernisation efforts.Over £800 million has already been invested in improving the organisation's services, but the latest funding is set to be used specifically on providing new equipment for postmen and women across the UK.Parcel delivery services could be improved by the plans, which will see the provision of new vehicles, handheld tracking devices and trolleys.Mark Higson, managing director of Royal Mail, said the organisation was "investing for a positive future"."We're hugely increasing our ability to track the delivery of goods and internet shopping orders and we are very determined to create the modern, efficient business that meets our customers' needs and expectations," he added.Royal Mail's services in some areas of the UK were recently disrupted by strike action.Article Added: 22/07/2009 09:24:08
