News of the World investigation reveals goings on at sorting office.More than 25 Royal Mail staff were recently given the sack from Scotland's largest sorting office for stealing items from parcels, an undercover report has found. The News of the World sent one of its reporters into the Bathgate office in West Lothian and uncovered that goods such as iPods and mobile phones were taken from parcels. He found that more temporary staff were employed than permanent workers, with many hiding stolen goods under tiles in the staff toilets, which could lead people to use the services of alternative parcel delivery providers in the future. One employee told the reporter that this is common practice."Every year we get temporary workers who come here with a view to nicking Christmas presents," the member of staff added.Plymouth Crown Court recently heard how a Royal Mail sorting office manager was allegedly caught on CCTV cameras taking items from cards and parcels.Posted by Laura RathboneArticle Added: 21/12/2009 09:36:09
