Royal Mail parcel deliveries will resume in Swindon

Deliveries have slowed in SwindonRoyal Mail spokesman Mike Dalton says services will be back to normal soon.

Parcel deliveries in Swindon will resume as soon as the weather improves, Royal Mail has said.

Many residents in the area have not received mail for days because of snow and ice, however, Royal Mail spokesman Mike Dalton told the Swindon Advertiser that things will return to normal as soon as possible.

He said between 60 and 70 per cent of parcel deliveries were completed on Saturday, marking a slight improvement on Friday's figure.

"We certainly won't be stopping deliveries unless there is a real genuine concern over the safety of our people … as soon as it's safe to do so, we'll return deliveries to normal," Mr Dalton told the newspaper.

Royal Mail recently apologised to people in Oxfordshire after many went for days without receiving mail due to the adverse weather conditions affecting the county.

The company said it hopes to get parcel deliveries back to normal as soon as possible.
